Westgate Town Centre

Construction is well underway on the DNZ Property Fund shopping mall at Westgate, Massey.  Scheduled to open in late 2015, as part of NZ’s biggest new urban centre the mall will feature around 90 speciality shops including all the big names such as Farmers, Countdown etc.

Located adjacent to the north western motorway and the newly completed upper highway, the Westgate Town Centre will play a major part in the northwest transformation and support the development of areas such as Hobsonville etc.

With construction costs of $155 million, this is a significant sized project that aquatherm is extremely proud to be involved in.  A Fletcher Construction project, with Numecon being the principal mechanical contractors and D L Good Ltd the plumbing contractors.

The mechanical design is by Thurston Consulting and aquatherm blue is being used for all condensate reticulation 250mm to 40mm and ably installed by the team at Axis Plumbing in Auckland.  There is a large amount of precision butt welding required on site along with allowance for expansion and loops on the extremely long runs that are common in these large open area shopping centres.

The plumbing is a Hydraulic Services Consultants Ltd project utilising aquatherm green for all the mains cold water reticulation and lilac for reclaimed / recycled.  Grant and the team at D L Good Ltd are now well underway with all plumbing services utlising green and lilac in all the main run areas.

This would be one of the largest shopping complexes that we have been privileged to be involved with.
